The Bayukbok Caves are one of the historical places in Bulacan which can be found at the territory of Biak na Bato National Park. Based on Philippine history, these were used by the guerrillas to hid from Japanese colony. Later you'll realized how they put their selves in the narrowest and the darkest holes of the caves just to hide and save their lives.
CAVE MAP
Legend in English: Daanan:way, Yungib:Cave, Bahayan:Residences, Tulay na Kable:Cable Bridge, Palanguyan:Swimming Area, Piknikan:Picnic Area. As you can see here at the Map there are lots of "Yungib". Anyway, This picture was taken after our Mt. Manalmon descent, see how oily and sweaty I am on that picture? eeeew! lol.
This is the HQ of the guides for the adventurous activities here. So if you just from Mt. Manalmon/Gola Climb and/or have unnecessary things for the spelunking that you want to leave, this area is for free and available for guests. Don't worry your things are safe here.
After Mt. Manalmon Climb, we decided to do spelunking at Bayukbok Caves. As you can see in the map, we have to cross the Madlum River.
After crossing, we entered a forest.
Then we climbed up on these rocks..Actually, I slipped here because of wet marble rock I stepped on. haha. Thank God someone catched me :) After this area we settled first for an orientation and rules for the activity. This is a very unforgettable experience. You will then realize that the whole area was totally submerged in water billions of years ago bec. of the sedimentary rocks around. Would you imagine that the whole Bulacan, Philippines land area wasn't exist before? Amazing!
ENTERING THE CAVE
This is the entrance of the first cave that we had entered. We all piled up here coz our cave guides "Tatay Tunying" and "Kuya Mel" are fixing an exciting appetizer! :)
ROPE DESCENDING
Tadaah! Descending using a rope. Biceps activated! I think this is about 20ft high and the stones are quite slippery so we have to really use this.
INSIDE THE CAVE
Our Mt. Manalmon and one of our Cave guides, "Kuya Mel", the one who's wearing the rope around his body. He is so nice and very caring for our group. He actually waited and assisted those having a hard time to pass through holes and climb huge rocks. He really contributed a lot to this great experience.
The ceiling
The floor
How did we get out of here? Well there's a small opening down there. Once you've able to get in, you're at what they called the Music Room.
THE MUSIC ROOM
Bottom View
The reason why they called this "The Music Room" is because it produces different sounds or beats through percussion of those mineral formations.
After descending using a rope, crawling under the stones and went through small tunnels we never knew how we went out of there, now here's another challenge! Simple yet enjoyable.
BAMBOO-ROPE LADDER
Oh we're not like fell on a trap here! There's a small opening at our lower left side, about 50 inches in diameter. The guy whose wearing black with orange stripe is actually assisting others to enter the area, but unfortunately we were almost full there, so everyone should climb up one by one to have enough space.
My climbing moment. I so much love this thing, so cute i wanna bring this home and put it outside my window :D
View of astonishing Stalactite and Stalagmites from the hole.
Ooops, small opening here again. I wondered how would I be surprise after getting in.
OTHER MINERAL FORMATIONS
Look at those mesmerizing dripstones! It's like an ice cream melted by your stare.
Looks like a view of a sky with lots of clouds and angels hiding behind it.
